What email archive formats does Evermail support?
Evermail supports PST (Outlook Personal Storage), OST (Outlook Offline Storage), MBOX (used by Gmail Takeout, Thunderbird, Apple Mail), EML (individual email message files), and ZIP archives containing any of these formats. The format is auto-detected on upload.
Is my email data encrypted?
Yes. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Evermail offers three security levels: Full Service (encrypted at rest, and Evermail can decrypt in-app to power search and AI summaries), Confidential (all content encrypted at rest under your own key with BYOK, and you can revoke Evermail's access at any time), and Zero-Access (client-side keys, where Evermail only ever stores ciphertext).
Where is my data hosted?
All data is hosted in EU data centers on Microsoft Azure infrastructure with tenant-level isolation. Evermail is GDPR-ready with documented export and permanent deletion capabilities.

What happens to my data if I cancel?
You can export all your data at any time as EML or MBOX files. If you cancel your subscription, your data is retained for 30 days before permanent deletion. You can also request immediate deletion at any time under GDPR right to erasure.

Yes. Evermail provides an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that allows AI assistants such as Claude and other MCP-compatible tools to search your email archive directly. Available on Starter plans and above.
