Uploading email archives
Evermail auto-detects the format of whatever you drop in — no conversion or renaming needed.
What you can upload
PST
Outlook Personal Storage files. Read directly — folder structure is preserved.
About PST files →MBOX
The open format used by Thunderbird, Apple Mail, and Google Takeout exports. Also accepts .mbx.
MSG
Individual Outlook message files, exported one email at a time. Upload one or a ZIP of many.
Google Takeout
The ZIP file Google gives you when you export Gmail via Takeout — upload it as-is.

You can also upload a plain .zip containing any mix of the formats above — Evermail unpacks and detects each file inside.
Size limits by plan
Two different limits apply: the maximum size of a single file you upload, and the total storage your account can hold across all archives.

Uploading a file
Open Upload
From the dashboard sidebar, click Upload.
Drag in your file, or browse
Drop a PST, OST, MBOX, EML, MSG, or ZIP file into the upload area, or click to choose one from your computer. You can select multiple files at once.
Pick a security level
Choose Full Service, Confidential Processing, or Zero-Access before the upload starts. See Security & Privacy for what each one means.
Wait for processing
You'll see live progress. Processing continues in the background even if you close the tab — check back from the dashboard.
If an upload fails or gets stuck
The upload won't start or is rejected immediately
.pst, .ost, .mbox, .mbx, .eml, .msg, or .zip, and that the file is under your plan's per-file size limit shown above. Renaming a file to one of these extensions doesn't help — Evermail checks the actual file contents, not just the name.
