Questions about the PST inspector

Do I need an Evermail account to use this tool?
No. The PST File Inspector is completely free and doesn't require signup. If you want full-text search across your PST and other email archives, create a free Evermail account.
Is my PST file stored on your servers?
No. Your file is written to a temporary location on our server, parsed in-memory, and then immediately deleted. We don't index, log, or persist any of its contents.
What's the file size limit?
The free inspector accepts PST files up to 500 MB. For larger archives, sign up for an Evermail account — paid plans support PSTs up to 100 GB.
Can I open password-protected PSTs?
No. Remove the password in Outlook first, then re-upload. (Most PST passwords are UI-level only and don't strongly encrypt the file.)
Why don't I see message bodies or attachments?
The free inspector intentionally only reads the table of contents — that keeps it fast and means your message bodies never leave your machine in a stored form. To read, search, and export full message contents, sign up for the free plan.
